So the movie was blah. But about 19 minutes into the film one guy starts singing a song that I've been trying to find for 30 years.
The lyrics were:
The good Lord pray me
For every day
He want me to live
A righteous way
So I don't care what
The white man say
Santa Claus is a black man
Those are not the lyrics of the 1973 "Santa Claus is a Black Man" sung by a little girl (Akim Vann). It is some other song, sung by a guy and with a reggae beat. I used to hear it on the radio in the early 80s but until this movie, I had been unable to find any proof that I hadn't just imagined the whole thing.
I'm still looking though, the credits didn't mention the song. Does anyone else remember it?
