This will be the first Marvel film in some years that I will not be seeing OW. I think it's the fact that in every interview the cast talk about "strong black women" and every review talks about how it's "the most culturally important film of all time" and crap like that that I don't care about. Maybe one in ten of the positive reviews actually address aspects of the film that I might care about, like plot, excitement, etc.
Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm not doing this back and forth with you. I've seen it and I liked it especially because they reference everything that's been happening in the real world.

Ok. Thanks for letting me know you've seen it. I asked for a point of reference, not to go "back and forth". It's completely pro-black, anti-white and anti-police to the point of committing illegal acts (destroying a public statue for one ). 95% of the "bad guys" are white, police or both. Yes, Gambi (couldn't have mentioned him if you haven't seen it) is the token "good" white guy but only after he sees how he was a "bad" white guy and repents. That's a couple of reasons I think it's a racist show.

I'm not sure this demonstrates you understand what racism is. So, why not just state what you think racism is? (and, to help you out here, if your definition does not factor power, system and institution, well, it's going to come up short).

Racism is believing one or more race is superior to others. All of your "factors" are encapsulated into that.

Being pro Black does not automatically make it anti white. They show "bad" cops because this is happening in the real world. They show a statue being destroyed because it's also referencing events in the real world. Nothing about this proves the show is racist at all or that they are superior in anyway. It's literally art imitating life.

And art imitating life includes racism because racism is alive and well in the real world.

Nope not at all, angry people probably, ignorant people definitely, bigoted surely but pure hatred towards another race for no other reason than they look different, well that's a problem for a lot of white people who think they are superior to others... Well anyway you can keep this bull up as long as you like I'm not bothered. Bye now, have a nice day.

If you think white people have the exclusive on racism, you need to get out more. Also you're part of the problem.

Your use of the word racism is false. Racism is the child of race, not the other way around. Those with darker skin didn't create the term 'race', that was European colonizers. So if that makes you uncomfortable, that is something you need to deal with on your own. It's not the job of minorities to make you feel comfortable about a subject that threatens their very existence. Everyone deserves to have a perspective, not just White people.
Can people be bigotted against white people? Yes. Prejudiced? Yes. Racist? Absolutely not.

And Black Lightning is its own comment thread. Why are we talking about it here? What you're doing is racist, attacking media dealing with Black Superheroes. Next, you'll be attacking the Luke Cage thread.

Seriously? People mention movies other than the thread topic movie, all the time. Grow up.

Nope. My use of YOUR definition of racism is false to you. People of any race can be racists. Sorry if you don't want to accept that but it's the truth. By the way, people with "darker skin" are also racist against other "darker skin" people. Feel free to "deal with that on YOUR own".
