Killmonger wants the throne, and teams up with Klaue to overthrow T'challa? Klaue wants a monopoly on vibranium, and sets up some arms deal that needs to be stopped.

SPOILER BELOW.
They could simply touch on the fact that T'Challa's new to the throne, after his dad's death in Captain America: Civil War. (T'Challa is his successor.) I don't know if he's new to the Black Panther mantle as well.
