From official press material: PRODUCTION: A Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures release of a Marvel Studios presentation.
So, I guess it comes down to what that means. Is Walt Disney part of the original intro for the movie? On IMDb they are listed as both production and distribution.
It's worth noting that all producers (except maybe Charles Newirth) are from Marvel. I'll let someone else look into this a bit more.

Thanks for the reply. Take a look at this trailer for Dr. Strange, especially at the :30 mark. (https://youtu.be/HSzx-zryEgM) You'll clearly see the Marvel Studios logo.
Marvel Studios is the production company behind all of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - from 2008 to now. It would make logical sense to have Marvel Studios listed as the primary production company for each. Disney bought Marvel the following year, but all of their films remain Marvel Studios films -- they're even marketed as such. Marvel Studios is almost a brand name now.
Just as Disney owns Lucasfilm, we don't list Star Wars films as Walt Disney Productions. Those are Lucasfilm movies, just as Iron Man (2008) through Avengers Infinity War (2018) are all under the Marvel Studios banner.
The reason behind my asking is for the way TMDB interfaces with scrapers and with 3rd party apps. Currently when browsing a movie collection in Plex or Kodi, if you search by studio and go to Marvel Studios, there are inconsistencies in the database - some movies are missing as different contributors have placed different studios in different orders. It's my goal to clean this up - and it's as simple as moving Marvel Studios into place as the FIRST production company listed on each of their films. Thanks for your help and action on this!
For the record, all of these films should have Marvel Studios listed FIRST as their primary Production Company: Iron Man (2008) The Incredible Hulk (2008) Iron Man 2 (2010) Thor (2011) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) The Avengers (2012) Iron Man 3 (2013) Thor: The Dark World (2013) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) Ant-Man (2015) Captain America: Civil War (2016) Doctor Strange (2016) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Black Panther (2018) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) Captain Marvel (2019)
Thanks very much, SeventhWard

I took a look at the press kit and I'm leaning towards removing Walt Disney Pictures. Though, when there are multiple production companies for a film I don't know if we can determine which company is listed first...

Sorry for not taking care of this until now. I read the reply back in March, but then nothing happened. The press kit is indeed a very, very good indication that Walt Disney Pictures should be removed. So I removed it. Anyone else willing to go through the other ones?

Thanks so much for doing this and for handling the other films. Any chance of doing the same for Avengers Infinity War?
