Discuss Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Since he has part of Ego's DNA, wouldn't he still retain some powers from his Celestial father? I just don't think that would completely go away after Ego's demise, even if it is very little wouldn't he retain something?

he retained the ability to have a penis.

Well he's a half-breed and those don't inherit all the special stuff from their super parent, just like the case with Zeus and Hercules. If both his parents were Celestials then what you say would've applied here.

We know he must have some latent ability even without access to the "light", or he wouldn't have survived holding the power stone in GotG1. There's definitely scope for more to develop in the future...

Yeah but he held the Infinity Stone before Ego with his light were gone. If he holds it again now, then you can say that.

True enough, however we only saw Quill harness the light in close proximity to it.

While it is entirely speculation at this point it's possible that in part one he wasn't accessing it at all, or that he has his own light.

Whatever Gunn decides when he writes vol 3!

I don't see how Ego can take that away from Quill. I think it is something he was born with. IMO, Ego was so narcissistic that he believed he should destroy all other life. He could have been so arrogant as to believe what he said was true, but he cannot take inherited traits away from his child. It also could have been a ploy to get Quill to have second thoughts for Quill definitely liked the power he was using.

Bingo. Peter still has those traits. He was born with it. The others wasnt and they were killed. So the way I see it is, you have it or you dont. Peter definitely has it...still. He will come to realise this in a future movie when the moment calls for it.

And wouldnt all the planets Ego injected be destroyed to as those are apart of him?
