Since IMDB deleted their message boards, I had to find another company that had the same scenario. Anyway, to Amadeus, great movie. It stands the test of time. Apparently Salieri did in fact have quite the taste for sweets.

What Salieri does is despicable, but at the same time who couldn't sympathise with him?
It's such a universal experience - no matter how deeply you love something, how much of yourself you devote to succeeding in it, there'll always be someone else who has that innate ability to surpass you with apparent ease. We've all been there
That scene in which Mozart gives several 'improved' variations of that little march Salieri had written to welcome him is heartbreaking in a way.

Salieri, the patron saint of mediocrity. Love this film!
