Discuss Passengers

When Jim told Gus he was awake for a year alone after confessing he woke Aurora up, Gus says, "still...damn." Was he saying:

  1. You were alone for a long time, but still...damn...you shouldn't have woken her up, or

  2. You shouldn't have woke her up, but still...damn...that was a long time being alone.

i interpreted it as the first but idk.

this movie didn't really work for me at all so maybe i'm the wrong one to say.

maybe he meant, damn, that's a fine woman you picked!

I thought of that as well. If he has a little grin, it definitely would have been that!

That was my impression as well.

My interpretation was, "Long time, but still...damn, you shouldn't have woken her up you stupid idiot!"

I actually watched it again today, and I'm certain now that's what he meant..
