Flop after flop they make when reimaging the Legend of King Arthur, there hasn’t been a good King Arthur movie since 1981, and even Excalibur had its flaws.
For such a well-known, often told legend with so many classic tales within it, its astounding Hollywood mess up the legend time after time.
But if they just adapt Le Morte d'Arthur and don’t mess with it, and spend the same amount of money they waste on tragic titles such as this and First Knight, Hollywood would find they’d have a hit on their hands with plenty of room left over for sequels, instead of making a third rate retelling to suit current tastes.
It wouldn’t have to be a reworking of Malory’s great work either, there are plenty of great Arthurian books, by the likes of Bernard Cornwell, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Stephen R. Lawhead, TH White etc

I feel the same way about Robin Hood.
Give it a rest, already!

Yeah when I saw the poster I audibly groaned. I saw Charlie hunnam and Guy ritchie and hoped they didn't screw it up because they've already done some good stuff...so much for that I guess...
To be fair, we've had quite a few good King arthur movies, really only a couple decent Robin hood movies and it's arguably a more interesting character but it's true, they're both as used up as Sherlock holmes. They need to give it a few years before trotting any of these out again and let us all start to like them again.

If I want to watch a King Arthur film - which one would be the best? I actually considered watching this since a bit keen with the legend at Tintagel Castle.
The only Arthur related I have seen from start to finish is Monthy Python's version lol

lol that’s a great movie but I definitely recommend Excalibur from 1981, a bit dated now and too much story for just one movie but it’s well worth viewing.
