or should I say a restored version. The film was chopped up in the 50's for timing concerns. The uncut is just fantastic! Back in the day Turner Home Video released a Laserdisc of the full cut and it's a big improvement on the one that TCM and other VHS copies around. Now it looks like it'll premiere in it's full cut on TCM quickly followed by being available on DVD from Warner Archive. As I wrote at Noir of the Week years ago this one is very good. One of my favorite noirs -- but sadly the cut version doesn't make much sense. Catch the full version if ya get a chance.
