We have Cap, Natasha, and Hawkeye. I find it interesting that of all the super heros it is Cap with the most respect and he has no powers.

I think he has superpowers
"greater in scope or magnitude than that which is considered natural or has previously existed."

I like the idea of this - would loved to see this modelled into a TV show.
Maybe a bit like 70's Hulk - some dude travelling from town to town, helping good folks with some problem or other. However every episode ends with him in the town bar unable to drink away his own problems, no matter how much he drinks... (fades to end credits using the same theme as the hulk - "The Lonely Man")

It's funny how the debate has been about whether or not Captain America has powers and not about why that (fictional) character is respected more than the others. In a nutshell, this is why I despise the entire superhero genre. The arguments devolve into childish debates about whether "so-and-so made-up superhuman" is more powerful than the next instead of debating why nearly indestructible fantasy figures are "heroic" when they are all but impervious to death and pain.
Sure, we get the occasional angsty story now and then, or the temporary death of a first-tier "hero," but in the end there's always a reboot or a retcon that will restore the "hero" and make it all better.
At least non-powered heroes risk their own (fictional) deaths, just like real heroes do. A bullet can kill Captain America, Hawkeye, or Black Widow unlike Hulk, Thor, and many others. In the end, as in real life, only someone who actually risks something is deserving of the title, "hero."

Sober-Man walks past a drunken bum, in an alley, passed out in his own puke.
The camera pans in on Sober-Man, and a single tear trickles down his cheek.

The SS formula wore off years ago. Cap can now get drunk. He stays in peak human condition by hard work and belief in American values

I work hard and believe, strongly, in American values. Last night I had half a glass of Merlot, causing me to upchuck a double bacon cheeseburger and large fries. I passed out, and woke up at noon with a tremendous hangover.
This would never happen to Cap, because he has super powers!

I can name numerios movies with action stars like Arnold, Bruce Lee that do so called "superhuman" feats but they are not superhuman. The steel railing was aluminum Many people have survived jumps from ther San Francisco bridge Actully the chopper has very little torqe and it should cap useing every once of his strenth His uniform is semi bullit proof. The glass cieling broke his jump and his shield is made of vibrauim which absorbs all energy. Many "strongmen" do that same thing The punching bag is well within a "strongman" area. Toe to toe with ironman...well.it is a movie.

Yes, it is a movie about a superhuman who went toe-to-toe with Iron Man.
