I caught Maya Deren's legendary 1943 silent film a few months back in a DVD compilation of American avant-garde shorts, and I was impressed with it... again. Co-created by Deren & her husband, the film is mostly gently lyrical and abstract. I still haven't formed a very substantial opinion on what it's about, instead enjoying it on a less subjective level. Maya was a bit of an entrepreneur who "four-walled" Meshes around from theater to theater to show it.
Please enjoy Meshes of the Afternoon on this day. Peace.

Eh, I did, although my post was inspired by today being International Women's Day. Kate Bush enjoyed a resurgence in popularity earlier this year due to "Running Up That Hill" getting airplay, so you are right.
