Discussão Pacific Rim: Uprising

Why did you have to leave Del Toro!?

Oh, I know why, because production companies want mindless action to appeal to the mindless voyeuristic zombie masses.

It is totally going to be trash and I am totally going to watch it.
I really liked the first one. I actively hate the Transformers movies, but enjoyed the original.

This movie will be a good movie to measure how much of an impact a Director can have on a particular film. Del Toro and DeKnight could not be farther apart in terms of integrity and merit.

The thing i admire about Del Toro is his ability to tell interesting stories with a unique visual styles. I will admit that Pacific Rim doesn't have the great story in the world. Even tho i think its a great homage to the genre. But the trailer to Uprising just looks like an episode of Power Rangers with a Budget. Maybe this is why TV Directors shouldn't try to do movies. It takes more then just telling actors to recite the lines to be a great film director. Frankly i don't care for his TV work either. Smallville was horrible. Angel was boring . Finally how do you take one of the most compelling superheros of all time (Daredevil)and make him about as interesting as cardboard.. I guess your have to ask Steven S. DeKnight. Not to mention that the first season was a rippoff of Batman Begins.

I just watched the trailer and this movie looks absolutely retarded. Which is sad, because I loved the first Pacific Rim. They've turned it into Power Rangers and John Boyega is a shit actor and can't carry a movie. Also going from Del Toro to random TV director guy is a huge downgrade.

This movie is going to be terrible and bomb at the box office. If there was a stock market for movies, I would short this movie to high heaven and be filthy rich.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first one to be honest. I'm much more interested in The Shape of Water than I am in a Del Toro directed Pacific Rim sequel. So I'm pretty glad he left. We can all just happily ignore this one.

Man, I'm probably gonna get flamed...but I REALLY do hope ya'll are WRONG and the movie isn't as sh!!tty as ya'll are making it out to be! pacific Rim is one of my fav movies to come out the last 5 years and my 3D Blu Ray is my home theater "show off" Blu when people come over. I also think despite the 1st movie's "not so good" domestic box office, its gotten a "cult" following since then.

This looks like it could be a brainless, but FUN movie...or it could be the equivalent of the worst episode of Power Rangers...Hoping its the former.
