I pick Richard Armitage.

I think that either Penn Badgley or Kit Harrington could work.

I do think a great way to reintroduce Logan through the MCU is in an Avengers movie. With the current Avengers storyline set to end I could see them doing a next generation style trilogy w/Spider-Man and Wolverine.

Tom Hardy fits the bill.

He probably would but he's supposed to be playing Venom. Even though those movies aren't directly connected to the MCU I still think it would be a challenge for everyone involved to have him do both characters at the same time.

You need a stocky actor, not a pretty boy. With that in mind...

  • Jack Black
  • Danny DeVito (older Logan)
  • Dustin Hoffman (Old, OLD Logan)
  • Jada Pinkett-Smith (Looks like a man)
  • Logan Marshall-Green (First name is already Logan)
  • Rosie O'Donnell (Has the body hair for the role)

I like his face for a Wolverine, but he's too old - only three years younger than Jackman. If they cast him, he won't last as long as Jackman did before he ducks out. Jackman picked up the roll around the age of 30, so the next actor ought to be about that age, assuming they want to use the character in the same wise. The only other way to go is Young Adult and pick a twenty-something pretty boy kid, which I'd hate to see.

All the other suggestions on this board are straight from the Forbes article! Pretty amusing. I don't like any of them, personally. Both the Heyuguys.com and Comicbook.com articles suggested Joel Edgerton, who might possibly be able to pull it off, but I have my doubts. And anyway, he's too old to play the role more than two or three times at the most, so he's out.

I don't know of any popular actor offhand who is in the right age bracket and could legitimately do a great job with it. I feel like there's a dearth of great talent around these days, just loads of spectacle.

Great comment.

I know many are going to scoff at these 2 suggestions but what about Josh Hutcherson or Nick Jonas? Neither one is a bad actor and physically they are both closer to the comic book version of Wolverine. I think they could maybe work.

Hard to cast. You need rugged, tall, great body, intense, angry... the more I write this the more I realise how great Jackman was. Anyone who is cast will be probably seen as terrible with the bar set so high.

I personally think Jackman is WAY overrated. He is good as Logan, but he is not synonymous with the role like Downey and Reynolds. Those are the only two roles that would be pretty much impossible to recast.

I hate when people try to make it seem like other actors wouldnt be able to nail a role too.
