Discuter de Logan

Jackman is great. And great in the Wolverine movies: But I do not think he killed it. The reason is simply because Wolverine is a short, very brute and almost animalistic character. Mean and grumpy with a heart of gold deep deep down... Jackman was just too leading man in my view, too likable., too neat. Sure, during fights he became a brute and in his last movie he was just right in his grumpiness... but overall, he was not right for the part, or at lest for the character.

Who is then??? I do not know. But firstly he can not be hansom, he has to be short (5'3 /160 cm) and buff as fucx. Generally unlikable. That is The Wolverine.

Rousimar Palhares: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/UaW7HhKsRFE/maxresdefault.jpg or http://cdn2.cagepotato.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/toquinho-cake.png - is no actor, but he has got the looks (albeit even he is a little bit too tall).

You are never going to get Hollywood to agree with you about not having the lead man handsome. They have to have the ladies want to to go to the movie too. It's true that Jackman is too tall, as Wolverine I believe is 5'3. But aside from that I think he did a pretty good job.

FCK Hollywood no one sane and of his or her full faculty would agree with the OP's opinion and his abhorrent casting alternative.

Well, unfortunately, they are the ones who make the films. We can be edgy, angsty teenagers all we want and say "fk hollywood" but they are holding all the cards in this situation. They are not going to cast an ugly MFer in the lead just because he looks the part.

You are surely right. One can only hope. In the reboot of the character I would love to see an actor or representation more close to the comics, or rather more close to the best versions of him in the comics.

What drugs or medication are you on?

Whatever rocks my boat, right now it is coffee.... But my point is just that the comic version of Wolverine is not a tall handsome fellow... quite the opposite. And I world love to see a more true representation of the comic book character on the silver screens. Rousimar Palhares is no actor, but he does have a more truer look to how he is envisioned in the more popular comic books.... that is all I am saying. Cheers.

The (heavily medicated) alternative you posted doesn't even look like wolverine but more like the beast. Why do people never want any nuance in their action heroes anymore I face the same idiocy from Flemishists.

Beast is tall, so I do not think so. Wolverine is short and heavily build. I know of no one who comes close - except perhaps the dude I linked to.

I dig nuance, and on the silverscreen a "different" Logan would be just that. I guess we all envision the characters differently, but comic book Logan is a short and heavily build fellow, and more animalistic than Jackman ever was in his version (and settle down :) I think Jackman was great, luv him)...visually I would love to see a brute and short mean fighting Wolverine warrior kicking ass... tall, handsome fighters we have seen in many places, and no need to copy what Jackman already did - for as you say, he did it perfectly.... so in a way. nuance is what I propose.

isn't that ufc guy a bit too manicured, waxed and clean looking? Sort out those ears and he'd fit in in most major cities as a trainer in one of the blander corporate gyms...

Jackman is a pretty boy, but at least can act convincingly enough for this character...

The most accurate portrayal of Wolverine was by Cal Dodd, who played him on the Fox animated series for five years.

I prefer him to Jackman.

One way that they screwed up Wolvie is by not having the blood fly whenever he used his claws on bad guys and others. I know that this is gruesome shit to say, and Logan should've satisfied the morbidity in almost every comicbook fan's appetite (I mean, come on, you could see those claws come up through that one guy's jaw and into his damn mouth). But my mind wants to fill in the blanks when watching these CBMs, and the movies come up short.

That Hugh Jackman replacement, whoever he is, better be up to snuff.

Yes. To see the character in a live version where they show the gore and brutality we know from the best of the comic books, would be a thing of beauty. A farcry from Jackman's version, but truer to the source material. Frankly speaking in the comics he is portrayed in all sort of versions too, so to say one is more correct than the rather difficult.... I for one, would just love to see the bestiality explored more on the silver screen. And first step is to find an actor who can portray The Wolverine how he looks and how he acts from those more edgy comic books...

True but at least they got somewhat gory in Logan and is one of the reason it is my favorite Wolverine movie by far.
