The Great Outdoors is one of my favourite movies, period, but if I had to pick a favourite movie starring John Candy, this would be it. Candy and Aykroyd are magic together.

Yeah this is another great Hughes classic. My personal favorite is probably Planes,Trains and Automobiles. Uncle Buck is up there, too.

I'd place P,T&A and Uncle Buck above this but it's an enjoyable one as well.

I love the Great Outdoors. It came out when I was 8 and I've always loved the movie. Well, except for the stupid Buck/Kimmie romance that absolutely no one cared about but I know was a staple of 80's movies. If it was just more Aykroyd and Candy it would have been even better. My favorite John Candy movie is actually Summer Rental. I don't know why but I've always had a soft spot for that movie. Depending on my mood that and the Great Outdoors are really neck and neck for 1/2 for me.

I wouldn't say I necessarily cared about the Buck/Kimmie romance, but the actor who played Buck was HOT AS SHIT so I didn't mind seeing more of him.

I love John Candy movies, but I'm still an Uncle Buck fan with Summer Rental in second place. I'd even put Delirious up there. I hate to say it, but when Aykroyd shows up I'm ready to bolt. I have a really, really hard time stomaching his B-level acting.

amc showed it last night. It was good. John Candy really brought the sweet dad appeal to this film. I like to think his wife was Cheneace from Buck.
