Does anyone else think they should've elaborated on Buck's relationship with Tia?

Buck seems to think they had a good relationship with his niece when she was younger. He even talks about a barbeque where he burns the steaks and it spreads to a bush. Yet Cindy being the way she is I'm surprised she didn't invite him or cut him off completely after the wedding.

I think he was welcomed by his brother, but over time his acts caused her to hate Buck and Ban him from the house. So when they moved she cut him off. That is why Buck doesn't know the other two kids well.
