Most sources use the title Die 39 Stufen, but 39 Stufen is the actual title on the German posters. So while I did change it at first, I then decided to stay with how it was. Both titles are correct.

Hi, it depends on which German poster you look at. Maybe you should think about exchanging the poster you use because all other German posters I've seen use the article too. I wouldn't base this decision on a poster to be honest. Even the German Bluray cover uses "Die 39 Stufen". The English title uses the article as well so it kinda makes sense to translate it with an article. All databases, websites, covers and posters use the article. I don't know how the judgement on movie titles works here on TMDB but I can also find different posters (Google image search). Thank you!

Hi, what I should have mentioned was that another moderator had decided to use the current title and then there must be strong reasons for me to overturn it. So far I have found that both titles are in use. I'll leave this open now and let someone else decide. Thanks.
