Primary language is down as English, while Persian/Farsi is only down as "spoken language". As there is not a word of English spoken in the film, the original language of the film should be considered to be Persian. Sure the title is English but that is it, and I believe the actual content of the film is a better indicator to the films language than just the title, and the content is 100% Persian and NO English.
This messes up stats in which I want to look at Films I have watched in Persian, but for some reason this entirely Persian film gets listed under English.

The "origin language" field has nothing to do with the language spoken in the movie.
This is movie produced in the United States by American companies and directed by an English director. Consequently, the origin language is correct.

But because of this, the film shows up in stats under "English" language films instead of "Persian" language films. Which is an absurd categorization considering there is _no _English in the film. It doesn't matter that it was made in the United States, the language is still _entirely _Persian.
The United States does not even have an official language, so being produced there should not automatically default it to English.

If you want to do stats based on the language spoken in the movies you have seen, you should do them with the "Spoken language" field.

It's a Farsi movie, with an all Iranian cast (so probably spoke Farsi on set too). Other sites use TMDB for data, and calling English the "original language" based on solely the title, I think is dismissive of a major part of the films identity as the "first _Iranian _vampire western"
By what metric is English "original language"?? Because yes, sure the title is English, but that is it. The film was written and produced not in English, it was conceived and created by FARSI speakers.

Hi, I'll give you an example. An Iranian director makes a movie that takes place in a country outside of Iran. Because of that, the language spoken in the movie is German. However, it's a 100 percent Iranian production, by an Iranian director and with a primary release in Iran. You would want us to set this hypothetical movie to original language German, denying the movie its connection to Iran!?!
It's a 100 percent US production. Why would it be correct to set the original movie language for the movie based on where it was filmed? I don't think we are going to convince you here, but read the example I gave above and give it some thought and hopefully you will see what we mean. Closing topic.

I get it being usa and american for 'country' and 'original language' but shouldnt it be persian for the main 'spoken language' and at least a secondary country for 'country' since it seems to be set in an Israeli town.
first world problems I know bahahah but it doesnt show up as persian on my letterboxd stats for 2022 which is a bummer </3 lolll

This is the case.
This field has nothing to do with the place where the action is set.
