I want to warn anybody passing by this page that there is a lot of confusing, contradictory, and misleading information about this film floating around. As of now, the TMDB summary describes it as a '90 minute comedy'. Meanwhile, there is a 15 minute clip purporting to be from the film on youtube. The film's Polish wikipedia page describes it as 7 minutes and wholly lost. The Polish film database (filmpolski.pl) describes it as '90 m'.
After a bit of digging I can shed some light on all of this. The '90 minute' figure currently on TMDB is a misinterpretation of '90 m', which, as another Polish film site explains, actually signifies '90 metrów' (90 meters), the length of the film stock. This translates to around 3-4 minutes of film in a modern framerate, or, in a 1900s-era silent framerate, the 7 minute figure used on Polish wikipedia. The youtube video allegedly from the film is, as one of the commenters explains, misattributed, and in fact comes from a 1916 remake by the same name, which is unsurprising given how well preserved it is compared to any other film from the 1900s.
The '90 minute' figure being false I think also makes sense given that Poland was a poor country under foreign occupation at the time. In 1908 only one narrative film of this length had ever been released in the world, while meanwhile the only other Polish film released that year (Prussian Culture) was 8 minutes long.
