The Conjuring is a much better film and actually portrays the story of Annabelle as it allegedly happened IRL (the only change being the real Annabelle was just a plain Raggedy Ann doll). The Annabelle movie itself is straight fiction, and not very good fiction.

Conjuring, because Annabelle was boring and not too scary for me.

i saw Annabelle at the theaters so i think i had a different experience than these previous posters. but i prefer Annabelle as one could clearly see the director tricked the audience for a nice high tension effect. one example is the elevator scene. just my opinion, and i can say a lot of folks at the theater liked it too. to me conjuring was forgettable, i can still recall some awesome scenes from Annabelle though.

I saw both in theatres. I wanted to like Annabelle, but for me it just never really picked up momentum. I was bored, and left the theatre sad that it didn't live up to what I expected.

Shoulda made it Annabelle 1 vs 2...because the sequel/prequel 'Creation' was MUCH better then the 1st movie..in fact Creation director is helming the upcoming Shazam! movie for DC!

Vera Farmiga too! I swear she made me tune in to every episode of Bates Motel after I saw Conjuring. She should have won an Emmy for her portrayal of a corpse. LOL
