Discuss The Good Lie

They were not doing fingerprints for asylum seekers back then? All the time when his brother was returning instead of him I was expecting he will get arrested and deported, so neither of them will be in US.

Would not be solution cross border illegally through Mexico and don't stay together and when one of them questioned by authorities both pretend to be one legal person? Do you have better idea how can they both come back?

Hi, Markoff. I'm curious what you think of this film and what you personally rate it. I ask as I was given the DVD of it this past Christmas, it doesn't seem, on the surface, like it would do much for me - yet perhaps it's a terrific film, that has a lot going for it, and/or that at least is interesting. Is this a film that has registered overall favourably with you? I'll probably watch it sometime soon if you tell me that you consider it worth watching.

It's pretty much easy going feel good movie overall, don't expect much drama after first half of movie, a bit touching, I enjoyed it despite my worries about Witherspoon but she her part is pretty small. I can recommend it to watch for relax, gave it 7/10, for sure worth at least 6.

Though on similar topic I enjoyed The Visitor more I think.

Thanks for the feedback, Markoff. I figured that with Witherspoon in it it's probably feel-good and/or lightweight. My sister, who gave me the DVD, goes for positive and/or cheerful type movies, so I had a hunch that's how this one must be, as well. I'll definitely watch it sometime soon. Again, many thanks for the info!

@genplant29 well, the african first part has quite a lot drama, only the american part is lighter but also with some drama (a bit similar to Lion divided to Indian and NZ/AU part), so it's not completely lightweight so don't expect comedy though it has funny moments, but it's OK for relax without giving it too much thought, it's one of those movies straight to DVD

Very good to know, Markoff. I certainly appreciate the great info. You've been very helpful!
