Yeah it was the same actress who played Stretch from part 2 but she wasn't playing the same character, just a little cameo as a reporter.

Wellllll...the director of III stated he loved her character so much, it was supposed to show Stretch is still trying to catch Leatherface and the Sawyers and maybe continue that story with an interconnected 4th film...but with the failure of this film at the Box Office, New Line let the TCM license expire and didn't continue it (TCM: Next Generation is a loose remake of part 1). Sucks huh? I really wish there was a better connection between all the TCM films...IMO this is the messiest horror series and a running storyline is all but a JOKE! Yes, even moreso then Halloween!
