Nick Hornby's 1995 set in London novel "High Fidelity" told the story of music list making record store owner Rob Gordon. It also told the story of a particular kind of young man at that time and the male/female dynamic as well as the male/vinyl record dynamic. It was turned into a decent 2000 film set in Chicago with John Cusak and a film career starting role for Jack Black.
For reasons only known to the year 2020 it is being turned into a 10 part series on Hulu. This time the story is moved to Brooklyn and Rob Gordon is a gay black woman played by Zoe Kravitz. Oookay then. Time to travel back in time and revisit the originals.
