It is OK on period flavor but the teacher looks yuppiesh.
Jean Simmons looks like she is dressed much like she did in another Bible-oriented film set in the 1920'--Elmer Gantry. Did anyone notice?
When talking of the Bible in court they never mention Biblical scientific accuracy that was known even at the time like a round Earth hanging on nothing (see my postings). Note: although we know far more Bible scientific accuracy today than over 40 years ago there was never a moment in the 20th century when we did not know-of-and-appreciate Biblical scientific accuracy.
