Melissa McCarthy's scenes with Jason Statham are funny. This match up worked well. Statham's character, his lines, were hillarious, and McCarthy played off of him very well. This was a LOT more funny than McCarthy and Bullock in The Heat, and that was a pretty funny movie. I thought the dialogue in The Heat was mostly ad lib, probably the director liked their dynamic and decided to let them come up with their own stuff. But the problem with that strategy is that it puts pressure on the actors to reproduce their natural funniness on que. It isn't natural. The best funny ad lib stuff comes when actors are working on a framework of scripted dialogue and produce relaxed ad lib. Anyway, Statham and McCarthy's characters interactions were one of the best things about this film.
