I really liked this movie but a few things seemed contrived. The Judge holding such a bitter grudge against Socks, a war hero who sincerely loves Angie, seemed a tad unreasonable. Also, Socks' reason for abandoning the fight because he was vainly worried about the scars on his head seemed weak. The trigger should have been due to the trauma caused by childhood beatings he received from his father. Anyway, still a great movie and there are swell dance numbers and songs from the gorgeous Caron and Louis Armstrong. 8/10
