I just can't handle the end of this film no matter how many times I've seen it! The triple whammy of feels:-

1. The Doc leaving the pitch, becoming Burt Lancaster again, helping the girl, disappearing.
   
2. Terrace Mann disappearing into the cornfield.
   
3. Then his old man appearing, game of catch, finally calling him dad.
   

just gets me every time... You just can't repel feels of that magnitude. What a film!
