讨论 Ms .45

There's a lot going on in this little indie Abel Ferrara film from 1981. I first saw it as the second part of a double-billing on the Showtime network back around 1991 (the first film was King of New York). I actually fell asleep shortly after Ms. 45 started just because it was on so late; I rediscovered this film on blue-ray last year and loved it.

It's much more than just a "rape-and-revenge film", but is a psychological horror-drama of a woman undone.

There are creatively-layered scenes, as when Thana (played by Zoe Tamerlis Lund, who died tragically young back in 1999) stands in front of a restroom door marked "men" as she listens to her sexually-androgynous boss Albert make an announcement to her and her coworkers.

And there are many more.

And . . . . . that does it. Whew! Since late February 2017 I've been going to the boards of all my favorite films here on TMDB and starting discussions for them if there were none-- and for most, there weren't; now there are. (You can check out my list of favorite films to see which ones they are; currently they number only 27).

Ahhhh . . . my work is done. Feel free to contribute more!

I enjoyed it, although I could never figure out how Thana came to be such a crack shot. Hmm.

Yeah, good point, Satch.

I like the .45 (own two myself), but, as many a "gun nut" likes to say, you're never going to hit anything with 'em grin

That's usually said by people who prefer the 9mm (yeah, I just went there-- the old .45 vs. 9mm argument).

It's watchable in a so-bad-it's-good way but how it's in the 60s on here is beyond me.
