In 1984 Julie Brown released a mini-album "Goddess in Progress (1984, vinyl, LP)".
There were five songs on it: "I Like 'Em Big And Stupid", "The Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun", "Will I Make It Through The Eighties?", "'Cause I'm A Blond" and "Earth Girls Are Easy".
This movie is loosely based on that last song.
Julie Brown is also in the movie as hairdresser Candy Pink.

Julie Brown has a lot of silly funny tv/films to look into. I even remember that MTV show she had. And the other JB. Downtown Julie Brown who wasn't funny just a host or something. Another funny 80s gal was Tracy Ulman.
