End of 2011. Pippo Delbono and Giovanni Senzani, the former leader of the Red Brigades recently released from prison, decide to get back together on their relationship with violence, with dreams of revolution, with the world today, and Italy in ruins. For a book, or a movie ... But the reality is that almost making mock of their projects, the death surprises them. Pippo rushed to the bedside of his sick mother, a fervent Catholic and a former elementary school teacher who hated the Communists ... While Anna, after waiting 23 years, her husband Giovanni came out of prison, gets sick in turn. Despite their efforts, the two women die three days apart. Pippo and Giovanni suddenly find themselves orphans, vulnerable, exposed. Meanwhile, L'Aquila, the city disfigured by the earthquake and emptied of its inhabitants, the city of promises and political campaigns, today also lonely and orphaned, abandoned, waiting for someone to finally bring her back to life.

Sangue raconte l’histoire d’une étrange rencontre : celle de l’acteur et metteur en scène Pippo Delbono avec Giovanni Senzani, ex-leader des Brigades rouges. Une rencontre où s’entremêlent les histoires de deux femmes : Margherita, la mère de Pippo, catholique fervente, et Anna, l’épouse de Giovanni, opposée à la lutte armée depuis toujours, qui a décidé d’attendre son mari pendant ses vingt trois ans de prison. Deux femmes gagnées par la maladie qui meurent à quelques jours de distance, laissant derrière elles deux hommes seuls, soudain blessés et vulnérables…

Fine 2011. Pippo Delbono e Giovanni Senzani, ex leader delle Brigate Rosse recentemente uscito di prigione, decidono insieme di tornare sul loro rapporto con la violenza, con i sogni di rivoluzione, con il mondo d’oggi e l’Italia in rovina. Per un libro, o un film… Ma quasi che la realtà si facesse beffe dei loro progetti, la morte li sorprende. Pippo accorre al capezzale della madre malata, fervente cattolica nonché ex maestra elementare che detestava i comunisti… Mentre Anna, dopo aver pazientemente atteso che il marito Giovanni scontasse i suoi 23 anni di carcere, si ammala a sua volta. Nonostante i loro sforzi, le due donne muoiono a tre giorni l’una dall’altra. Pippo e Giovanni si ritrovano improvvisamente orfani, indifesi, smascherati. Intanto L’Aquila, la città sfigurata dal terremoto e svuotata dei suoi abitanti, la città delle promesse e delle campagne politiche, oggi solitaria e anch’essa orfana, abbandonata, attende che qualcuno, finalmente, la riporti in vita.
