Well that money the exchange man took was marked so it was basically useless, that's why the trade for real money is 4 to 1, it would go back to the bank. The bigger question is what happened to the 834 money, the driver couldn't have got it earlier as we see him outside the whole time. And the girl did the initial exchanges. I think either the Driver had a different locker as we see him hours before getting a locker, so he goes back month's later like the Player suggest, but if that then why put up a long chase for the key at the end (well to kill the opposition one reason) Or they did get ripped off. I don't think the player had time to switch lockers, she had the key stolen from her inside, she wouldn't know if the real money was there or not.
