This discussion isn't so much about The Perfect Storm (although it kinda is), but rather how some movies age well while others really don't. I remember wanting to see this when it came out but never got around to it. Just recently it came to mind, so I thought I'd check it out.

It definitely seems like the end of the "Titanic" era of films with cheesy story line, cinematography and score. Also, how does it say 'Based on a True Story then [spoiler] everybody dies!??!? Anyway, kinda made me nostalgic for those "epic summer blockbusters" but then again...not really! Maybe you just have to have seen it back in the day for it to still "hold up." Top Gun does that for me...albeit waay dated.
