August 1936, the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. 51 members of the Claretian community of Barbastro (Huesca) are martyred, die for their faith. The film recounts the last weeks of his life, since they are held until they are finally shot. During that time, they perform various writings they talk about their situation, of his fellow captives, people who saw them. These writings have been the basic testimony used to narrate this real fact in film version.

В 1936-м году, в самом начале Гражданской войны в Испании в городе Уэска провинции Арагон были арестованы 51 человек из располагавшейся там католической миссии кларетинцев. Большинство из них были студентами, изучавшими богословие и готовившимися к миссионерской деятельности в разных странах мира. Спустя неделю 49 человек были расстреляны. Освобождены из-под ареста были только двое граждан Аргентины. Их воспоминания, а также сохранившиеся письма молодых католиков легли в основу фильма, реконструирующего последние дни жизни людей, пожертвовавших жизнью, но не отрекшихся от Бога.

Basada en hechos reales, Un Dios prohibido cuenta el martirio que 51 miembros de la Comunidad Claretiana de Barbastro (Huesca) sufrieron a manos de milicianos revolucionarios a comienzos de la Guerra Civil. Representa las últimas semanas de sus vidas antes de ser fusilados, gracias a los escritos originales que escribieron en este tiempo utilizados como testimonio para la elaboración del guión. En el momento a la Comunidad de Misioneros Claretianos de Barbastro pertenecían 9 sacerdotes, 12 hermanos y 39 seminaristas. Entre los últimos se encontraban dos de nacionalidad argentina a los que se puso en libertad, cuyas declaraciones fueron también esenciales para conocer lo que pasó dentro de la casa de la Comunidad Claretiana.
