Discussão The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane

Knowlton/Lac-Brome, Quebec

  1. 87 St Paul, all exterior shots and one single interior shot (bathroom scene), also character leaving through front door and outside visible. all rain is fake. all snow is real.
  2. intersection of St Paul and Lakeview, where Rynn's crossing the street in the village (2x), the locksmith helps Hallet with the Bentley and Mario's seen at the gas station
  3. Old Court House on St Paul, as 'town hall'
  4. Lakeview Rd, when driving to the hospital
  5. Eastern Townships Antiques on St Paul across the Court House, a real bookstore then
  6. Auberge Knowlton on the intersection Knowlton and Lakeside, as 'Wharf Inn'
  7. a location mentioned but not seen, the public library, Pettes, on Knowlton Rd across the Auberge (which btw has no books on how to stop bodies decomposing or such..)

Montreal, Quebec

  1. Bellevue Pathé Studios, Maisonneuve Blvd./Northcliffe, all interior house shots, once a 6000 sq ft studio now devided into 50+ rental units, loft appartments etc.
  2. Fat Joe's restaurant, at the Seville Theatre, St Catherine W, demolished some years ago, now condo building
  3. the hospital which name I can't remember right now, but it was demolished shortly after the filming
  4. a TD branch bank, the exact location is yet unknown, unlikely it still exists

Ogunquit, Maine

  1. Marginal Way, a short trail on the cliff, partly fenced, where Mario throws the key into the ocean. Exact rock on request.
  2. Ogunquit beach, opening scene
  3. Parking lot at the end of Ocean Way, where Hallet offers a ride.
  4. Israel Head Rd, when Rynn walks back home from the 'village', leads to the Marginal Way and a small lighthouse

I've collected tons of trivia and info about each and every location, building, place, people whatsoever, just ask.

Just got back from a weekend in Oquinquit, it was nice to be in the presence of such a great movie. It was funny, because we walked along the chilly Maine shoreline of Marginal Way and I saw the exact formation that Mario tossed the keys. I tried to play the soundtrack on Youtube, but there was some copyright issue. The weather fit the mood perfectly (dark, cold and somehow dangerous).

I truly envy you. :)

Have you seen a middle aged lady looking for some nice seashells on that beach? Did you dive for the car keys? Did some guy offer u a ride at the parking lot?

PS. Did I tell you how I found out about the Marginal Way location? It was with the great help of a local artist, Mary Byrom. She painted lots of these rocks and ways and when I started researching Ogunquit in 2010 I came across her work. A very nice person with an eye for landscape details just what I needed as movie fan.

It was the strangest feeling and I must have known (through you or the old board) that scenes were filmed there. The walk itself can't be more than a mile, but there was one stop along the way and I just stopped, gloved hands patting my car keys and it all clicked. Over 40 years later, I was there. I'm not sure if you're on Facebook, but I could show you some of the shots if you want to send along a friend request. I did see a small lighthouse at the end near some shop, but the whole area was pretty empty.

Please go ahead with that story. Did I tell you some of the finest aspects of digging movie stuff always has been reading personal TLG experiences. Fan's common memories are amazing. You have no idea how many people saw this little film and left quite impressed to this day. I think one of the reason's there's still no proper website is because I don't know where to start and I don't want to skip or drop the tiniest bit and story from around researching. And without its die hard fans the film would be long forgotten.

I'm not sure if you're on Facebook

No sorry, but you can reach me on fb thru Rynn Jacobs. She will forward any message.
