So in the DC's ending where the mom is talking to the new baby(the daughter) she says she had 4 miscarriages, are we to conclude that the daughter didn't get the time traveling ability? I've seen on some other sites that said it was explained that it was only evident in the boys of the family meaning that the other stillborns before Evan were also boys who were actually born but went through similar experiences as Evan did and ended up going back in time and killing themselves too. And if the father had it, then why in the new timeline(after Evan dies) does he somehow seemed cured enough to not be in a mental facility and makes another child with his wife? What happened?

It must be a certain gene. In Carrie she had a recessive gene for tk not dominate in men. Meaning men couldn't use it and passed down by women.
Since Evan is never born, his father never had the chance to attack him and deemed cured from the mental facility.

Temporal mechanics confuse the hell out of me sometimes.

Just went back and watched and the husband in the DC ending is not Evan’s dad. It’s his mom’s new husband. So even if the new baby was a boy instead of a girl he would have been safe because the gene was passed through Jason. As for Jason, I’m assuming he still somehow ended up dying or was still in the mental hospital.

You can say it's the same thing as Donnie Darko. The movie takes place in an alternate possible reality which never happens.

Hmm...the only thing I had misinterpreted the first four times: I thought the counselor was lying about the journals not existing at the end. I didn't realize that his killing of the girl had caused a conundrum that prevented him from ever having written them.
