I can't believe how bad this flop when it first released. I thought it had a pretty decent script and definitely well acted with a host of top notch actors. Cronenberg's weirdness definitely stood out with all those disgusting sexual allegories coupled with those vile creatures which I suspect is why the film did so poorly. I myself loved it since they did in fact make me feel uncomfortable. The notion of a game within a game within a game was executed rather well. I guess my only major criticism would be that the story could have been slightly more fleshed out and I am talking about the game "story" . It almost felt like the film ran out of money half way through the shoot and they wrapped it up rather hurriedly. I did love how the finale scene pretty much encapsulated the entire point of the film which is if these games did exist, our minds would not be able to handle it. Over all though, a decent flick.
