Rekonstrukce proslulé akce z roku 1960, při níž izraelská tajná služba unesla z jihoamerického exilu jednoho z nejhledanějších válečných zločinců. Adolf Eichmann (Robert Duvall), který organizoval genocidu Židů, žije pod cizím jménem v Argentině. Na základě podezření o jeho skutečné identitě přicestuje do cizí země skupinka agentů. Totožnost masového vraha je ověřena podle data jeho sňatku i dalších indicií. Pečlivě připravený plán se podaří uskutečnit, nastane však problém, jak dostat vězněného muže přes hranice... Ilustrace průběhu únosu se prolíná s konfrontací mravně otrlého Eichmanna a zdrženlivého šéfa komanda (Arliss Howard).

Set in 1960, the story follows the efforts of the Mossad, the Israeli Secret Service, to find former SS Colonel Adolf Eichmann, who ran from Germany to Argentina and took the name Ricardo Clement. He was wanted for the murders of both Europeans and Jews during the Holocaust. Learning of Eichmann's living in Argentina, the Mossad sends a team to capture him, led by agent Peter Malkin. The standing order: bring Eichmann back alive to Israel for trial.

Der israelische Geheimdienst Mossad hat im Mai 1960 den nationalsozialistischen Kriegsverbrecher Adolf Eichmann in Argentinien aufgespürt. Die beiden jüdischen Spezialisten Peter Zvi Malkin und Isser Harel entwerfen nun einen Plan, um Eichmann zu fangen, außer Landes zu schaffen, und ihn in Israel für seine Verbrechen im Holocaust vor Gericht zu stellen. Am 11. Mai 1960 gelingt dem Mossad der Coup – Eichmann kann festgenommen werden. Im Versteck, wenige Tage vor der Entführung nach Israel, offenbart sich Eichmann den Ermittlern. Der Film endet mit der Entführung Eichmanns nach Israel in einer El Al-Maschine.

Titkosügynökök elrabolják zsidók millióinak gyilkosát és az izraeli miniszterelnök különgépén csempészik Izraelbe. Az akció annyira titkos, hogy magának a miniszterelnöknek sincs tudomása arról, hogy diplomáciai körútjáról hazatérőben repülőgépén milyen speciális rakomány van. Eichmann Izraelben bíróság elé került, és halálos ítélet után ki is végzik. Ő volt az egyetlen ember Izrael állam történetében, akin végrehajtották a halálos ítéletet.
