Hi, I'm new here just so you know. I haven't seen any Star Trek movies but want to. So my question is which order should I watch. Do I need to watch the series first or just the movies? Should I start from the first movie in 1979 I mean I was from?

Start with the best movie, Star Trek II, then follow up with III , IV and VI. I think these movies are reasonably accessible for newbies to the franchise. Then, if you are interested, you can move on to the other movies and TV series. I think this because this is how I was introduced to the franchise.
Don't start with Star Trek: The Motion Picture, you will probably be so bored that you won't want to continue. I am a defender of TPM, I dont think it is as bad as it's reputation, but it s bad starting point and can only be enjoyed by people who are already invested in the franchise.
