Well there is a twitter storm of epic proportions after the premiere of ROS it is bad really bad reviewers that previously were positive about TLJ are now abandoning the sinking ship that is ROS it's a dumpster fire of epic proportions. John Campea wrote that he never left the theatre after seeing a Star Wars film feeling so disapointed.

I'm afraid I wouldn't really take any solace from it's box office if it does poorly - TLJ did good business and that was a disaster.

It's pretty hard for them to fail really - Disney really milked the end of the "Skywalker Saga" so a lot of people were taken in by that, plus a Christmas release as almost assures it success. However looks like they bust the story so badly that I've no qualms about having given it a miss.

The Last Jedi dropped 76% in its second week and still made $1.3B at the B/O and even more in the home video market. It's true that TFA made a lot more, but Disney will make a handy profit on RoS nonetheless. I know there's a lot of hate for what Disney has done, and I'm still hostile after how they treated Luke, but it seems the general public just wants simple crowd-pleasers and Disney can pump them out like nobody else. /shrug

Forrest Gump is the only one of these I've seen as it pre-dated Saving Private Ryan.
