محادثة Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Princess Leia gets expelled into the Vacuum of space and freezes to like death and her frozen body is floating in that vacuum of space and then suddenly her eyes opens and she stretches one of her arm, and like a Marry Poppins, dives her way back to the ship.

Its even worse than Nuking the Fridge from Indian Jones 4.

alrighty then this is star wars hahahahahaha

Alright then. This is STAR WARS!!!

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Hang on a minute - I thought THIS was pod-racing? 🤔

Nope. It's just cow milking.

It worked to stall them, which was Poe's intention, and it's a play on the trope of the stuffy general getting served by the scruffy opposition.

A scruffy nerf herder you mean. wink

I actually thought it was a lazy, extremely unrealistic way to give the rebels a chance in a situation where they had none. No Commander--not one--would become that distracted that a large force of enemy fighters could slip in and destroy his flagship. And even if he, the thus far EXTREMELY successful Commander of the New Order was, he had rows of technicians manning sensors and guns that would have seen the threat and stopped it.

I KNOW it's "just a movie" but why does the screenwriter have to make the entire enemy force stupid so that the good guys can win? (If we're objective, Lucas did the same thing with the Death Star.)

In this case it was totally logical. You guys are really exaggerating over this.

The whole point is that Hux is smug because the First Order is smug, because they're the badguys and badguys are smug because they're jerks. Poe played him because it was relevant and appropriate for both of their personalities. It might not be "Star Wars" (yeah, a lot of the humour was very different to OT, but closer than PT) but in the context, it was fitting. I grew up watching Caravan of Courage and thinking the Ewoks were awesome, and it still baffles me how some people hate Ewoks, but I get how if you're older than me (I was only a few weeks old when ROTJ came out) that you can be more objective, because you weren't a kid when it happened.

This joke (as well as the drunk slot machine BB8 joke) are relevant for the audiences TLJ was trying to reach. But thanks to those who hated it, it didn't have as much critical and box office success, which led to Solo getting less box office success than it deserves (full disclosure: I reckon Solo is the best of the Disney Lucasfilm releases, in spite of the behind the scenes drama between Kennedy, the LegoBros and all that. I just imagine it'd have been better with just one, which gices me hope. But since it didn't do well, we may never get that Obiwan film.

Thanks. Thanks a lot guys.

Screw the stupid Yo Mama distraction scene. This embarrassment is a direct influence from Marvel movies, like Guardians where there was an idiotic Dance Off for distraction too.

Only Marvel fans will laugh with this juvenile crap, were not many of them in the theater when I watched.

Guardians of the Galaxy movies are awesome.

Only DC fans don't like those movies because they have horrendous and abysmal taste.
