yep. i watched this years ago when it came out, then read the book a couple of years later (a portuguese translation). yesterday i finished reading the original english version and now i just rewatched the movie and yep, roger avery nailed it. no it's not accurate in terms of characters' storyline, but it is a faithful adaptation of the novel's overall tone and, er, morals. only thing i don't really like about this movie is james van der beeken.

I have read the book and this film although pretty daring is still not even close to the book which had Bateman and Paul in a full-fledged affair. It was kinda hard to buy that Paul would be in love with Bateman when he practically ignores him the entire film. However, I do like the film and feel bad that Roger Avary who co-wrote Pulp Fiction and shares the Oscar for best original screenplay with Tarantino for same film never really took off like Tarantino. He is definitely talented IMO.
