Usually, all of Tyler Perry's follow somewhat of his play storyline. This one didn't at all. It actually has zero in common with the play. I don't think his writing is superb but if anyone has seen A Madea Christmas (the play) it's actually some of his best work.
I'm just curious why with this he went in a total opposite and weaker direction.

He usually flip flops the plots around.
For example, the play I can do bad all by myself, is the plot of the movie of Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
The play of Madea goes to Jail, is the plot of Madea's Family Reunion.
He also does original plots due to recent trends in society such as interracial dating and homosexuality.
