I think this was mentioned before, but it's really not necessary to upload such high-res images. The preferred resolution is there for a reason.

As for the aspect ratios, I fixed the ones added by me and Fogjuicer and deleted the big ones. If we were to delete every image slightly off the 1:1.5 ratio there would be very few images left in the database. And usually when it's very close I let them stay until something better comes along (that isn't too big). ;)

If you don't agree with big sized posters, please add a max size rule to the poster criteria and maybe add the max file size too. Like so:

Posters must meet the following criteria: A preferred resolution of 1000x1500, A minimum resolution of 500x750, A maximum resolution of 2000x3000, A maximum file size of 10 MB, Aspect ratio of 1:1.5

I prefer the biggest size posters, because sooner or later bigger will be better if resolutions keep going up like they do with for example 4K and 8K. I add them because the source material is available for movies that are released now and might not be when they're needed in the future.

Yes, this is maybe what we have to do.

But this not a high priority issue so don't expect a quick solution.

In the meantime I will delete images that are 6-8 times bigger than what's necessary (which means slow load times even for users with the fastest connections).
