Discuter de Resident Evil : Chapitre Final

In Afterlife and Retribution we are clearly presented with an infected Albert Wesker who can move at superhuman speed (end of Retribution) and can create things coming out of his mouth (Afterlife boss fight). But in The Final Chapter he is just some pathetic employee who only lives to serve Isaacs? And it is so easy to kill him that all they had to do was to shut the door down on his foot? Then he bleeds out? What happened to all of his own super powers? If something happened between the two movies to cause this downgrade then we should have seen it, because this is just stupid.

Also, for god's sake, the antivirus has been present since the first movie. Is it only now, ten years of movie time later that they realize this will wipe out the virus? Or is it a different green antivirus then? Like, the first antivirus could only be applied through injection and this new one is capable of being airborne? If so, why is the first antivirus designed differently? The very first blue virus is clearly capable of being airborne straight off the bat, so why not the antivirus? It can't be that Umbrealla high command wanted the airborne anti for themselves, because then why bother building an injection green anti in the first place?

Bad writing? I am aware (or maybe it's just that I feel) that these series have been a way to keep the franchise alive using some very famous actors. But they are far from having the "feeling of dread" that the games and books have. And they are bit pathetic in my eyes, except maybe the first movie because it was well presented and logical. I admit some scenes in all of them are worth watching, and even fun. But these big flaws in writing really itch my head. Or I am really missing something and if I am tell me please.

The first part, you have a point, since it's left it up to the imagination of the audience to figure out what happened to Wesker's powers.

The theory I came up with: once a cure is administered to the T-Virus in a person's system, if it is ever re-introduced into that person's system it now has the lifespan of, say, the common cold. TFC takes place, what, three weeks later, meaning the T-Virus has now worn off in Alice's system.

Wesker may be a company man but he's also vain and a narcissist, so I can't see him ever agreeing to have the T-Virus in his system without a cure to make the effects temporary. All the movie had to do was establish he gave himself injections of the T-Virus whenever it wore off, and since in TFC Umbrella had basically won he saw no need to give himself more injections. Meaning his own arrogance lead to his death since the T-Virus would have minimized the damage of the falling wall.

The second part of what you said, though, was actually explained in the movie. Umbrella always had the airborne version of the cure, just within the Hive (in fact either Isaacs or Alicia actually had the vial on their person, I forget which). Umbrella's plan all along was to release the T-Virus and have it "cleanse" the population, save for the super rich and wealthy who were safe and asleep in cryo capsules, and when the population was at a small manageable number, release the cure and rebuild the world in their image.

The biggest mistake ever was taking the series out of its TRUE horror roots (George A. Romero was pegged to direct the original RE) & make it more 'Matrix' which was the IT movie at the time.

Its a shame this last one was so bland...the series deserved a better ending then that. I'm hoping a reboot of the series will return it to its horror roots...especially now that ZOMBIES are all the rage (ie Walking Dead).
