I really dug this one. It had everything, including creepy old lady with a curse and no teeth coming at you. It had a rare blend IMHO of good scares/jumps, suspense, humour and good old fashioned creepiness. ;)
This movie is great. Remember liking it a lot in the theater. Watching it again right now and it holds up. The attack scene in the car especially reminds us of Raimi's unique kinetic style of visual that can bring great energy and often some fantastic laughs as something truly horrible is happening. Plus it's also cool that it has as strong an ending as a beginning.

I could never watch it in a theatre no way.
It was awesome in the theater because the sound was on point. Loud but just right. When the titles first came on filling the screen after the intro it was killer and throughout all the sound cues were great..and of course the end hit nice and hard. I bet on a decent big screen with a loud surround system it would be very cool.
I definitely file this under 'big dumb fun' but the acting wasnt the best (either straight or comedic) and at no point did I even feel remotely spooked (just entertained or grossed out). A good laugh when dozed up to your eyeballs on cold medication, but probably not up there with It Follows from the past ten years (or Evil Dead).
Mmm, probably The Babadook, for one. There was another, but I forgot the title.
OK, despite both Drag Me To Hell and Babadook being "horror"...they're not even CLOSE to being in the same category. Whereas Drag Me To Hell is more of a "Balls to the walls" fun & fast paced horror film, Babadook is more of a slow burn & hints at deeper issues "mental illness" and such. I'd hardly compare them and say one is better then the other.
I'd say Drag Me To Hell is comparable to the likes of 'Hatchet'. Maybe to a lesser extent 'Hell Fest'

I haven't seen it yet. I really liked the poster, though. It's on Netflix so I'll definitely have a look!

So much fun... definitely worth checking out... even better with friends... Even the introduction before the opening credits is great!
It's hilarious, creepy and such a great ride...
I hope we see more fun horror movies like this... not too self-serious...

Feels like an unofficial sequel to the Evil Dead movies! You can tell Raimi was definitely having fun with this one! Love it!

There have been better horror films released in the last decade or so.

This movie was a good horror movie but not anything bombastic or stupendous.
I rated it 7/10.

Watch Ash vs. Evil Dead. Three seasons and all pretty good stuff.
