Great onscreen chemistry! I had seen this way back in '99 and just rewatched this on Showtime. I was rooting for these guys to kiss already the way a good sitcom keeps you hoping.....

I agree. I took a look at this after seeing it on a list of movies that were critical and commercial bombs but look better in time.
It's a really old fashioned movie. The sort of vehicle Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart might have carried back in the 30s or 40s. I can't think who might have filled the Sandra Bullock role because she really is one of a kind. Few actors would have been able to carry off the mix of fun and fragility that she does in this movie.
Well worth a watch.
