Just watched this yesterday for the first time in years. It's a terrible film, but a one which gives a whole lot of pleasure for all that. Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier both give truly dreadful late-career performances, but the shameless ham on display is great fun. One observation. James Mason stands out from both as actually giving as good a performance as could be expected from such outrageous trash. I guess he is one of those rare stars who was simply incapable of a bad performance.
The Boys from Brazil is lurid nonsense from wall-to-wall, but I can't pretend I didn't have a good time watching it.

I felt the same way, impossible to not be entertained by such a ridiculous film. The scene with the dogs alone made it worth watching. I could barely contain myself while they hovered & growled all over Peck the whole time. "There's no other way they can come in??" Lol, pure gold.

Yes the dog scene was hilarious. The expressions and deadpan delivery from the boy Hitler only added to this.
The 70s truly produced some truly creepy kids. Back then, cast a child in a horror movie and they really looked like they belonged in one.
