When his father tells Cool he won't be coming back, is this because the father expects his son will eventually be killed, or because he expects his son to never return out of shame and inability to face responsibility?

Yes i always thought it was because he knew his was never coming back to be a dad and straighten out his life. This is one of my favorite movies its hilarious and real
