I love this movie but the only thing that bugs me is the story starts out in Arkansas. You see Louise leaving the restaurant where she works and there is a desert mountain in front of her. Various shots of the girls leaving town also clearly shows they were not in Arkansas. Most of that state is flat and covered in pine trees -- not scrub brush looking terrain. I listened to the commentary and learned that a lot of the movie was filmed around Los Angeles. I guess it doesn't matter in the long run but seems funny they tried to pass off the opening scenes as Arkansas. Ridley Scott is an Englishman --- I guess he didn't know the terrain of the US very well....
