When I watched it years ago I thought it quite scary. Not so much now. The girl friend stalker definitely needed to be institutionalized... but I couldn't believe how cool Clint's character was with such a nutter running around.. Even when she slashed her wrists he wasn't that bothered.
The finale when she was running around his house with a huge knife, he still looked nonchalant while she's slashing away lol

That's pretty much the same reaction I had when I re-watched it this past year.
I have to remember that the reason I liked it so much the first time is that I was young, and it was the first movie of its kind I had ever seen. The plot is old hat nowadays - the rabid fan, spurned one night stand, or whatever, turns into an insane stalker/slasher - but it was all new back then. Maybe the movie didn't age as well as it could have, or maybe I'm a bit jaded. Not sure.
It must have done something right, though, because Jessica Walter has creeped me out in a major way ever since!

It's definitely where they got influence for Fatal Attraction.

Meh is quite a good rating, hahaha. As much as I love the Clint, I can't say I enjoyed this one at all. Donna Mills was absolutely stunning, though, so at least it wasn't all for nothing.
